Are we humane?

I am tired Tired of the word Patriarchy  Tired of the word rape Tired of how normalised it has become Tired of the insanity of this world Tired of hearing our capital city look like a cuss word Tired of hearing the same crap again and again How she showed too much skin, how she stayed out late too far How she begged for it, and how she liked it I don’t write this to ask every rapist That what was her mistake I don’t write this to ask every human who even thinks of doing this to their kind That what was her mistake I write this to every human Asking you. How could you be so inhumane? She holds you within her for 9 months Nurtures you there and nurtures you here She may not demand that respect, because she deserves it But if the animal within you has not learnt to treat a women right yet I am sorry dear We will demand it.  And you certainly don’t deserve to live. I am unaware of how many rapes take place a day Within or outside homes In broad daylight or under the moonligh...

Democracy- is it what it is?

Five years of blamegame politics,  no one spares a glance,  the days leading to the start of another is when when hand holds bread while the other money .  The largest Democracy,  which came into power on the 26th of January,  1950 has survived 69 years with a formidable political structure which forms the crux of our country. The Centre,  the State,  the Local and The Panchayati Raj which uphold the prominent banner for "by the people,  of the people and for the people. " Not forgetting the two centuries,  our ancestors fought for a country,  where we live,  breathe and call democratic today. Democracy? A mere nine letter word which is scribbled enough,  heard enough,  but not seen enough? Or a system which provides opportunity to  our politicians to bribe the underprivileged after every five years?  Or a river of false promises which never meets its ends?  Or is it a system where the ultimate rulers are...

Humanity, where art thou?

Knocked out by a racing car, a cripling body falls down on the road. A palm stretched out for a penny is just ignored on the road. Bombs in Syria have rendered millions homeless and children are left without a guiding hand on the road. And here we live in the 21st century, oh! The irony! Kindness and humanity, attributes being constantly absorbed by the darker society our world faces today. A world where the light of peace and harmony keeps flickering day by day heading towards a dying tomorrow. Chemical attacks in the east with the revengeful air strikes from the west. Meaningless wars over religion and ISIS waiting for world dominion. Girl infants being raped and left to be eaten up by our judicial monsters. Thousands sleeping homeless and the ones with a roof over their head just mourning over their death. Alas! But this is the world we view today, where rape is recorded but justice is not. A mere eight year old's rape is made a religious joke and makes a person wonder, ...

Thirteen Reasons Why - A Review

Back with a review this time on the recent netflix mystery web series Thirteen reasons why! but I m going to review the  book  by Jay Asher and not the series adapted. So for a small insight into the book, for people who haven'tread it yet- Clay Jensen is a high school student who finds a mysterious shoe-box in the mail. It contains seven double sided cassette tapes used by Hannah Baker, a classmate who committed suicide. Each tape describes the reason why she killed herself, The tapes were sent to many others before arriving at his doorstep and while listening to them, he walks around the town and visits the various places mentioned by Hannah. The book contains two narratives at a time, one from Hannah-voice from the tapes while the other from Clay, who experiences her sorrowful journey. To be frank, I liked the book but there were certain negatives which could not be ignored. What the author wants to convey is very clear and evident-  Our words and actions have...
